Volunteer
We have a growing community of volunteers at Hijaz taking part in activities such as:
- Gardening
- clearing pathways
- litter picking
- site maintenance
- clearing of communal areas
- cleaning the kitchens
- cleaning the shoe areas
- serving guests
- car park maintenance
- maintenance of the Garden of Blessings area
- maintenance of the Mausoleum area
- Cleaning the Hijaz Mosque
The above are examples are some of the practical steps one can take to look after our wider community. Such activities are a way to contain and discipline one’s ego. This is because volunteering is a selfless act which put others before ourselves. It is an act of service which makes the world a better place. Importantly, through selfless servitude, we hope to gain humility and develop the ideal human character.
Many of our volunteers have relayed the following:
- enjoy meeting new people,
- gain confidence
- making meaningful connections
- making a positive difference
- becoming a valued member of the Hijaz Community team
- learn new skills
- gain hands on experience.
Volunteer your time at Hijaz and join us in our service. Share your skills and assist in our Community Outreach programmes. Use your time to benefit both yourself and the wider community.
All our volunteers are DBS checked
